Change of Date

I had a conflict on my calendar so we will be changing the date of our Greyson's Gift Service Project to
Friday, November 13th at 8:00 p.m.

Sorry for any inconvenience. If you can not make it and still want to make blankets please feel free to bring them to my home and I will see that they go to a hospital in need. Leave me a comment to let me know that you can make it. I want to be able to set up enough tables for sewing machines. Thank you!

Greyson's Gift Service Project

This month we will be doing a service project. Invite your friends!
We will help Greyson's mom Meryntha make baby blankets. You can read her story here. As a mom this story touched my heart and I feel the need to help as I can't even begin to imagine.

So this what we are going to do.

Hospitals all across the country are in need of small, very small, baby blankets. In cases of fetal demise, babies are so tiny, even the smallest nursery blanket is much too big to wrap around their tiny bodies.

30% of all pregnancies end in fetal demise!

I know we can make a small yet, dramatic difference in the experience these mothers and fathers have in the hospital. It is heartbreaking for the nurses to try and present these tiny babies in the best way possible to grieving parents. They are extremely appreciative of any donations we can give.

So even if you don't sew you can help us out by cutting fabric and you can also take this opportunity to learn how to sew. It's easy and you can do it! :)

-The blankets are 12x12 or 24 x 24 and need to be made out of flannel material. (pink or blue, no elaborate patterns, we don't want to take away from these precious babies)
- So if you can pick up a yard or two of fabric to donate that would be great!
-If you have a sewing machine bring that too and white thread.
-Scissors and pins ( if you have them)

We will meet November 12th at 8:00p.m at
Natalie Gessell's home!

October Craft Night

So for this month, I thought we could do a Halloween craft. Isn't this cute? I am super excited. I will have Curtis get the wood and cut it for us. Bring your favorite Halloween paper and wooden letters painted whatever color you want (if you don't want to use "BOO!" you could use "EEK!"). YAY! I am WAY excited!

What to Bring:
Wooden letters - painted (the exclamation point is an upside down capital "I")
Scrapbook paper
Paintbrush for mod podge (if you have one)
Same colored paint for the dot on the exclamation point

Goodbye Michelle and Update for September

We are very sad to have to say Goodbye to Michelle, but we are happy for her family and the new adventures that BYU will offer them.

With Michelle leaving us we have to change our get together just a bit. This month we will be making these..............(just the watch, not the earrings although those would be fun too)
I hear they are really the "it" thing to do in Utah. So us California girls gotta step it up a bit huh? A list of things you will need will be posted soon. First I need everyone to order a watch face here. If you let me know which one you want I will order them all and we can save on shipping. They range from $3.99 to $5.99 for the watch faces. We should place our order by tomorrow 9/1/09 so we can hopefully have them by next Thursday!

* UPDATE*
Suzette has offered to host craft night at her home on
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th
at
8:00 p.m

( she has made lots of jewelry and I am so excited for her to teach how to make these!)
THANKS SUZETTE!
